Our ten-year-old neighbor came by the other day. He was excited to see Silas painting, and tried to give him an “art lesson.” He tried to show Silas how to put on a thick spot of paint and then spread it with slow strokes. He wanted Silas to hold the paintbrush closer to the tip, “Like a pencil.”
“Silas is not quite two,” I told him. “He doesn’t even hold a pencil like a pencil!”
Well, put my foot in my mouth…this is what Silas was doing the very next day:
