Weekend Reading

An acquaintance blogs about the phenomenon of moms never finding the time to go buy themselves decent underwear, but always managing to clothe their children. I was just noticing that I have needed socks for like…at least four months. I will get this done. Soon. Maybe tomorrow.

Newsflash: Neil Gaiman thinks books are good (but so eloquently. Nerd crush!)

Time magazine has a short article on a study that shows that women who are less scared of childbirth have shorter births and fewer emergency c-sections and other interventions. This is why shows likeĀ Delivery 911 (which is apparently a thing) are causing real harm. I absolutely believe that my short labors were due to my growing up in a birth-positive culture.

Interesting links. I recently went out and bought a bunch of stuff I needed to clothe myself. I felt guilty at first, but now I feel so much better. My socks were disappearing and becoming holey.

I remember being afraid as the pain started to get worse. But I was not afraid at all before that!
