Petra is two months old!

It’s been a busy month…let’s see…

Petra started smiling right at five weeks! That was wonderful. She is a very interactive baby and loves to wiggle and giggle and make faces at us.

She likes to watch things, too–trees against the sky, shadows on the wall, her mobile.

We are getting back into the swing of our regular lives. Petra loves playdates with our friends (and so do I).

We took Petra, Silas, as Carlos to see Mom and Gary’s new house in Winchester. Petra has been there a few times before, but this was the first time she seemed aware of her surroundings.

Load of laundry to carry + baby…put baby on top of laundry, right? And then she fell asleep on the short journey from the laundry room to the living room. So I left her there. Not going to win Mother of the Year with this technique.

Things with Silas are improving. He is still a bit crazy, generally, and especially with Petra. It’s a good day that we get through with no injuries…but he is both less crazy excited about her, and a little more mellow. Since Christmas is coming, we’ve been looking at lots of Christmas-story picture books. He likes to tell me “Baby came out of mama’s tummy and then he were borned, like baby Petra!”
